Inclusive working at Markas
We are convinced that everyone - regardless of their mental and physical conditions - deserves a chance on the labour market and that diversity in the workplace promotes team spirit and productivity. In cooperation with the partner institutions HausAktiv, MyAbility, NEBA and the initiative MAG Menschen und Arbeit of the province of Lower Austria, Markas is therefore intensively committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities.

We also place an emphasis on the active management of parental leave and thus ensure that many employees return quickly after childbirth. And since we know that women with caring responsibilities often have poor labour market opportunities, we cooperate with the Austrian women's shelters in order to help the women living there find a job and become financially independent.

The mental wellbeing of our staff is just as important to us as their physical health. We want to make it as easy as possible for our employees to get professional help when they need it.
For this reason, in cooperation with "Hilfswerk" in 2020 Markas set up the "Keep Balance" telephone hotline, which all employees can take advantage of – free of charge, anonymously and absolutely confidentially.
The hotline serves as a contact point in personal crisis situations and works with psychologists or psychotherapists that are always available to help our employees with professional or private worries and problems.
