It invited people to think big and reflect on a critical question: What sustainable actions can we promote on an individual, team, and company level?

Sustainability, in essence, is about balancing environmental, social, and economic factors, ensuring social and economic well-being, fairness for all, and respect for the planet.
Through this contest we aim to foster concrete actions in our workplace, capable of positively impacting all sustainability pillars.
The winning ideas
This year’s 16 winning ideas represent a perfect balance between creativity and feasibility.
Here are some of the ideas that impressed the jury:
- Share Pass: An app for Markas’ employees living in the same city, enabling them to share their commute to work by displaying the locations of users, facilitating in this way eco-friendly transportation.
- Reducing Waste, Spreading Joy: A system in company canteens and university cafeterias to reduce food waste by allowing users to request half portions or parts of the menus. Unused food is donated to charities, with detailed data on donations, water savings, and CO2 reductions accessible via QR codes on informational tags.
- Sustainable Mobility: A strategic partnership with rental companies in order to provide employees with cars, scooters, and bicycles, and therefore with eco-friendly, efficient transportation options for short commutes.
