Sustainability Report: a tool for growth

19.12.2024 - Italy - Austria - Germany

At Markas, the Sustainability Report is more than just an accountability document; it is a strategic tool that shapes our decisions and fosters awareness among employees, clients, and communities about building a more responsible future. Through this report, we demonstrate that investing in people, the environment, and innovation is not merely an ethical choice but also a cornerstone of long-term success.

In 2023, this commitment resulted in remarkable achievements: the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as SmartCare, over 60,000 hours of training dedicated to our personnel, and welfare initiatives designed to enhance work-life balance. Each initiative represents a step forward in our journey toward a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Christoph Kasslatter: “Our strength lies in our people”

As emphasized by our CEO, Christoph Kasslatter, Markas' success is deeply rooted in the dedication and commitment of our people:
“The commitment of our people and their ability to collaborate are the driving forces behind our success. Thanks to them, we can ‘Do better every day,’ achieving milestones that position us as responsible leaders in the multiservice sector.”

In line with this vision, 93% of the economic value generated in 2023 was distributed among employees, suppliers, communities, and public administration, underscoring our commitment to creating shared value for all stakeholders.

The event with Confindustria

On November 26, 2023, we hosted the event “Sustainability: The Report as a Tool for Business Growth” at our headquarters in Bolzano, in collaboration with Confindustria. During the event, we underscored the importance of the Sustainability Report not only as a transparency tool but also as a lever for growth and innovation.

Entrepreneurs, experts, and institutional representatives discussed how the Sustainability Report can enhance stakeholder awareness and foster a corporate culture grounded in responsibility and innovation. Among the speakers were Professor Massimiliano Bonacchi from the Free University of Bolzano and representatives from Würth Srl, Alber Spa, Gruber Logistics Spa and Loacker Spa.

We also shared our experiences, presenting concrete examples of how the report guides our journey toward more sustainable management practices.
