Specifically, in 2023 Markas' revenue exceeded 383 million while the company's EBITDA was over 224 million.
Innovation, sustainability, and employees have been the cornerstones of this continued development, allowing the company to further solidify its leadership in cleaning and catering services.
Let’s dive into more details.
Growth of business divisions and international presence
The Clean and Food divisions have consistently accounted for approximately 90% of the company's total revenues. In Italy alone, over 8,000 employees are involved in cleaning and disinfection services, while around 1,000 work in the catering sector.
These divisions are complemented by Housekeeping, aimed at the hospitality sector, Logistics&Care, for hospital assistance and in-hospital transport, and Facility, dedicated to the maintenance of facilities.
Italy remains the company’s primary market, showing a 13.8% growth and contributing 77.8% to total revenues. Following Italy in revenue contribution are Markas Austria and, to a lesser extent, Markas Germany.
Employees at the core
At Markas, employees and their well-being are a top priority. In 2023, across Italy, Austria, and Germany, the company reached over 12,000 employees, providing them with more than 60,000 hours of training, creating opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Markas has also implemented policies to support work-life balance, ensuring pay equity and introducing a new policy in support of parenthood.
Looking ahead to 2024, Markas aims to tackle new challenges by focusing on innovation and continuous improvement, while maintaining a strong commitment to its people and the evolving industry.
Christoph Kasslatter, our CEO, said: “2024 will be an important year for the entire group, marked by crucial challenges and growth opportunities that will require a new strategic vision, investments in innovation, stronger internal coordination, and ongoing attention to our people. By doing so, the group will be well-positioned to enhance its goals and achieve new significant milestones.”
