European Cleaning & Hygiene-Award for Commitment to D&I

Markas GmbH received the first prize in the "Commitment to Diversity in the Workforce" category of the European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards (ECHA) on October 5th, 2023.

Leading service providers, manufacturers and distributors from the European cleaning and hygiene sector gathered in Dublin on October 5th to celebrate the best of the best in the industry.

The ECHA were presented by the European Cleaning Journal at a gala ceremony at "The Mansion House".

 
ECHA 2023 festivities
This year, a record number of entries were submitted:
the jury reviewed more than 230 nominations. Markas was nominated in two categories: "Leader of the Year" and "Commitment to Diversity in the Workforce". The 49 finalists in 10 categories were announced at a gala dinner. The judging panel included Michelle Marshall, founder of the ECH-Awards, Lynn Webster, Juan Diez de los Rios de San Juan and Frank Veneman. 
David Demetz, Claudia Schuster, Thomas Meindorfer and Enikö Hazafi from Markas Austria and Elisa Montanari from Markas Italy were attending the event and proudly accepted the 1st prize in the category "Commitment to Diversity in the Workforce". 

"We are very proud of this award", says Managing Director Gerlinde Tröstl. "It is a confirmation of our efforts to create a diverse and inclusive work environment." Markas has been setting initiatives in this field for years.

About the European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards:
The European Cleaning Journal (ECJ), as the founder of the Awards, aims to promote the highest professional standards and recognize expertise in the industry. Since the launch of the awards in 2016, the gala dinner, which is always held in a different European city, has become a prestigious ceremony for the industry.
