Reducing plastic consumption
Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the circular economy. The three Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - play a central role in this.
Markas is committed to selecting suppliers and products that consider strategies and guidelines for reducing plastic consumption, especially when it comes to new plastic material.
The degree of sustainability of a product is also determined by its packaging, while the environmental impact of the contained product is often focused on and the impact of the packaging, container or bottle is neglected.
Our main supplier of chemical products, Werner & Mertz, with whom an international cooperation agreement has been concluded, has received the „Cradle to Cradle“ certification (which refers to an idealized, closed material cycle based on the model of nature, in which all raw materials of a product can be kept in the cycle and reused 100% after the end of its useful life).
With the Green Care Professional Austria cleaning products from Werner & Mertz, we at Markas actively save CO2, plastic and crude oil year after year. With the specially developed Green Care Calculator, this can even be recorded very precisely down to the level of individual objects.
Markas for holistic sustainability
We are pleased that last year we were once again able to operate in a particularly resource-saving manner and achieve optimal cleaning results. Roman Hörantner, Sales Manager at Werner & Mertz Professional, presented the Green Care Performance Calculator Certificate 2023 to Markas ESG Manager Angela Meissl and Martin Großsteiner, Head of QHSE, IT & Project Management.
Note: The calculation was performed by the green care Performance Calculator on get.wmprof.com and is based on up to 100% recycled plastic packaging, product formulas with natural ingredients, the use of 100% renewable energy in production and with its own water treatment.
