31.10.2024 - Italy

At Markas, the safety and well-being of our employees are essential priorities. Every day, we strive to create a respectful, inclusive workplace, free from any form of violence or discrimination. Mutual respect is a core value of our company culture, and we are dedicated to ensuring everyone feels valued and protected.

We want every employee to contribute their best, without barriers or fear, within a company built on the principles of fairness and integration.

Violence and discrimination: a zero-tolerance policy

Any violent or discriminatory behaviour, whether physical, verbal, or psychological, is entirely unacceptable to us.

At Markas, we define violence and discrimination as any act that may harm a person’s dignity or respect, including threats, offensive language, or penalizing behaviours based on personal characteristics such as gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, abilities, and more.

These are just some examples, as any form of disrespect tied to individual differences is intolerable. We have implemented a zero-tolerance policy towards such attitudes, while also fostering a culture of equity where everyone can realize their potential without obstacles.

Prevention and support: our concrete commitment

To address and prevent incidents of violence or discrimination, Markas has implemented a safe, anonymous whistleblowing system to report any disrespectful behaviour.

Additionally, we conduct awareness campaigns and training programs that promote inclusive language and mutual respect. These concrete actions have earned us the Gender Equality Certification, an important recognition of our commitment to ensuring equity and inclusivity.

We believe that every single employee has a responsibility to contribute to the development of a collaborative, harmonious workplace where diversity and dignity are shared and celebrated values.
